De Nederlandse coureur Max Verstappen stevent onverschrokken af op zijn derde opeenvolgende titel in het wereldkampioenschap Formule 1. Hij won voor de derde keer op rij op Silverstone in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, zijn achtste overwinning in de laatste tien races. Zijn Red Bull-team evenaarde ook het record van McLaren uit 1988 met een 11e overwinning op rij. De vijfentwintigjarige Verstappen verzekerde zich van poleposition en reed naar nog een eerste plaats. Lando Norris in de McLaren eindigde als tweede voor Lewis Hamilton van Mercedes, die vanaf de zevende plaats startte.
